What was it like to attend the vampire rave in the opening scene of Wesley Snipes's greatest movie, Blade? On Friday night, for a few short hours, Terminal 5 transformed from an otherwise loathsome, inaccessible, corporate EDM house of bro-horrors into a bloodbath of a late-’90s rave (complete with strong slaughterhouse vibes). JNCO pants swirled. Lightsabers twirled. And the deliciously insipid industrial techno of the Crystal Method thundered in the cavernous space, effectively turning my eardrums into pneumatic paint shakers. Oh, and there were people surrounding the dance floor spraying everyone with synthetic blood as their bodies writhed and jumped and grinded on each other. The mood was ecstatic, if short-lived, as the "rave" climaxed around midnight and everyone was out of the venue by 1 A.M. The night was still young.
