Offered is an organic modern bowl in blackened patina on brass by Canadian sculptor and jewelry designer, Martha Sturdy. Sturdy’s work spans resin, brass, standing steel, salvaged wood, jewelry and wearable sculpture featured in American, Italian and French Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, as well as Architectural Digest. Throughought her career as a sculptor, her work has remained focused on natural monumentality and balanced composition with the intent of reflecting the proportions of our environment. This series of home accessories was handcrafted between 1988 and 1998, per Martha's daughter, Jessica, who has assumed the reins of running her current studio, Studio Sturdy. This piece has a small signature brass button on the exterior engraved with "Martha Sturdy Canada" It measures 11.75" in diameter, 5.25" in height, and has a base that is 5.75" in diameter.
