Beautiful pair of brass spring loaded officers quarters style candle holders with hand blown glass chimneys, possibly French. The candle holders contain a removable spring-loaded tube and burner so the flame stays in the same place until the candle burns out. Both are in very good functional condition, but one has some damage to its base (see photos). Marked on the base with an anchor and a compass rose. Very good condition for their age. One chimney has a tiny nick in the glass but it is not visible as it is covered with brass (see photos). There are some old wax remnants inside. Dimensions: the pair stands 14.5 high to the top of the globes with the bases measuring 41/4 in diameter.
