The adults spend a lot of time in emergent canopy trees, like the Brazil nut, the Kapok and the Angelim tree providing them with the perfect opportunity to spot primates either in the emergent canopy or the understorey canopy, where they will swoop and kill by gripping the head and the claw will normally pierce the skull.
