Chapter 4: Season 1, also known as Season 23, was the twenty-third season of Fortnite: Battle Royale and the first season of Chapter 4. The season started on December 4th 2022, after the Asteria's Gaze unplayable period and concluded on March 9th 2023. The season's theme revolved around the Oathbound and medieval times in a newly forged island. The season's main slogan is A New Beginning. In Chapter 3: Season 4, a mysterious substance called "Chrome" appeared and started spreading on the island.
